Photobucket link does not work for me, shouldn't be using photobucket anyways, Imgur is reliable.
Thanks for the pics.

I like the full look of the pistol, guards and all, no complaints, feels good. So until im able to shoot, theirs no complaints :)

Just remember, shooting a pistol accurately to get very small groups is one of the hardest things to do, even with a modern target pistol.

The time delay with a flintlock, between when you pull the trigger and the gun fires makes it even more difficult.

Get a good sight picture on the target.
When you pull the trigger concentrate on holding the gun right at the same point on the target and don't relax that hold for at least a full second. Longer is even better.

If the gun fails to fire, you should not see the sight picture change, even a little bit.

If the gun does fire, as long as you kept that sight picture, your shot should hit the point of aim.

Good luck and happy shooting.

Thanks!
Seen lots of videos so know what to expect. Right now the problem is the powder, ordering it is not an option, shipping starts at $150 because of the dangerous goods, even if the store is 300 clicks away.

Any recommendations on the type of loading stand to build? Looked at lots of pics from pinterest.

this is what I've come up with for a loading stand. copied off pics on the web and modified according to what scraps I could find in the garage. it holds everything I need for fun shooting.

I don't see the pics. musta done something wrong.
didn't want to use some other party to post pics but sure can't get windows to co-operate anymore

The trapper pistol is heavy and clunky. It is no where near as good as the old TC patriot pistol for shooting. It weighs about 30% more than it should.

I had two over the years. Never could get them to shoot well enough for match shootinng.

my neighbor and I shot my traditions flintlock pistol at his mini farm. we could only safely shoot at a distance of 28 ft. both of used his own target with a center bull of 1.5 inches. both of us could offhand hit that bull with the 250grn. real home cast lead bullets. this was without changing the sights just as they were right out of the box.
I took a pic of our first shots mainly because I wanted a pic of my new variable terrain target holder. now I can't get pic of that into a reply.
i'll try later on as I am having serious monitor problems on my Toshiba laptop.

BB, Right click on picture on Imgur, "Copy image address" and paste in the picture icon, group of 12.

Ive been surprised how accurate flintlocks can be, always thought it was a roll of the dice, according to TV, silly **** tube :)
