tried and true oil varnish question

I like the look of T&T varnish oil, but like a lot of others I have found it is aggravating slow to dry! and I put it on razor thin! and wipe it off. I am thinking of putting some Japan drier in to speed it along. the only thig is I cannot find how much to mix ratio. all I see is to the gallon, I need to know how much Japan drier to put per ounce. have any of you added drier to it? any help is appreciated ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

A couple of drips in a tablespoon of Tru-Oil works good, maybe the same for T&T.

I used this on my Kibler Fowler. It worked great! I used it as it came from the bottle (got it from Amazon). I did make sure the stock was warm by keeping it near the wood stove.

As has been mentioned put it on thin. I will be adding some more coats the next time I get a chance. This is a finish that needs a lot of thin coats and then I will use wax over the top as I do with Tried and True oil finishes.

I have used it several times using TDM's advice mixing T&T with Turpentine mixing 25% Turps to the oil, still need to put it on thin and keep warm but dries quicker between coats and the smell of the turp reminds me of Grandpas shop!

I finished my SMR with it. I would take just a tiny fingertip of it and spread it as far as it would go and repeat until I covered everything. I did this every couple of days four or five times. Came out great.

It’s not bad. Just have patience with it drying where you’re at down south. Somebody will gripe and complain about every product. If you like it use it.

It isn't rocket science gents. If you start with a tablespoon of finish, add a couple of drops and apply it as you normally would to a small area on a scrap piece of sanded wood and see how long it takes to dry. If not fast enough, add a couple more drops and check again, and so forth, until it suits your needs.

That’s the problem. I had to coat it with wax and that destroys the oils sheen. I would have been better off to use permalyn sealer. But now permalyn is gone.
