Not that its too relavant but many original two trigger set triggers were fitted to American percussion rifles that had no half cock just the full cock, This did away with the detent idea & would'nt much matter if pure range rifle and in the field the hammer could rest on a cap. Not overly safe but not overly dangerous either . .Then we find the common use of set triggers on South African muskets which seems both needless and unwise considering they where mostly flintlocks till very late and I never saw a dog catch on any .
.I restored a 6 bore smooth bored large game gun had full size Enfield lock but set triggers which could only be used if set. Naturaly it made it weak & the stock was broken through and repaired in the bush by the looks of it . Such hunting being very' Up close & personal' ( With Elephant & Rineosserous .not noted for takeing prisoners ) & all at a frantic heated chase in rough bush .So why set triggers ? I never figured the logic behind them in such conditions but they did .
I restored it with a single trigger allowing me more wood to add strength and I sheathed the whole with roof iron tin per original repair .. All it needs now is a section of tubular Elephants privates to complete the restoration properly but Elephant where not introduced to New Zealand (Odd ommissien since every thing else seemed to be including Moose ) & I much doubt Zoo keepers would approuve anymore than a Bull Elephant would .So a bit of big pig green hide will have to suffice .

Which trigger allows the hammer to release the front or back? I thought the front which the set trigger puts it into a position to release the hammer but seeing a video on a old thread on this site shows the set trigger releases the hammer?

First....if you're going to file anything....file the part that is the cheapest to replace. I this case, that would be the trigger.....NOT the sear bar!!

Triggers can be replaced for much less $$$ and aggravation that the sear bar.

Now, BOTH triggers are designed to engage (hit) the sear bar. It just depends on if you're firing it non-set, or set. When firing non-set, the front trigger engages the sear bar causing it to release the hammer. When firing set, the rear "set" trigger "pops" up and hit's the sear bar first, to release the hammer.

I'm assuming your set triggers are like the double set-double phase as shown in Zonie's pic.

Looking at the picture above it seems that I have a double phase trigger and I accomplished the working of the hammer releasing was to file down the front trigger another 32nd which allowed it to not make contact with the Seer for it to COK now that I did that it works correctly I can cock it both ways lock and ready to fire and the set trigger will set and hitting the front trigger it releases. Thank you all this helped tremendously.

Yes i was elated when it worked the way it should. Front file 1/32 and loosening the spring did wonders.
