glad I am not the only one experiencing this. let me know it the desiccant pack work's?I've not had that happen but I do notice bits of clumping! I've been wondering if putting one of those desiccant packs in the can would help.

anytime I opened a can of Pyrodex there was a pack of dessicant in it and also american pioneer powderglad I am not the only one experiencing this. let me know it the desiccant pack work's?
People work in high risk occupations every day. It is a choice which hopefully is reflected in their pay.that is fine as long as you are not an employee in the plant when a catastrophic failure happens. lives cost $ & are not replaceable. jmho.

you know I had it so long maybe I put the dessicant packet in there lol had it over 20 years just found itI have been shooting Pyrodex since the late 70's and I have yet to find a dessicant packet in a can. Is this a new thing? I have only limited experience with the American Pioneer powder, 1 can but I don't remember it having one either. Though if it would have prevented clumping it would have been a good idea, the AP powder clumped up badly after opening.

glad it went off for you. I was not shooting ML when they put Pyro in carboard containers. when I got it the Pyro was plastic bottles with metal screw on lidWell memory can play tricks. Actually you got me curious enough to go check. I bought several cans when wally world had their end-of-season clearance in Feb. 2020 and hadn't opened any yet. So I broke the seal on one and checked... no dessicant. The modern cans are sealed better than the old ones though, when I first started using Pyrodex they sold it in a round cardboard can with a simple plastic plug in cap. I actually still have some that got mislaid in a move, only found it when I decided to clean out a corner of the attic a while back and was checking what was in boxes. Shot some of it and it still worked fine so put it in my stash with the newer stuff.
good system you got all your bases coveredNo matter what brand or smokeless or black powder I have, I buy dessicant packs to throw in when I open a fresh container. Also kept in controlled environment. It may be over kill but I try to take care of it the best I can
One more time with regard to Pyrodex and the other brands getting shut down. The following from the official statement:
Effective immediately, Hodgdon Powder Company, Inc. has made the decision to cease manufacturing operations at the company’s Camp Minden, Louisiana site while evaluating strategic options for the black powder business.
They do next expect any impact on their other categories or brands as the only location which produced black powder was the Camp Minden factory.
Actually you'll need to experiment for yourself. I no longer use 777! And I won't use Pyrodex!glad I am not the only one experiencing this. let me know it the desiccant pack work's?
That ought to be telling us something!anytime I opened a can of Pyrodex there was a pack of dessicant in it and also american pioneer powder
Huge Con for me.what can you tell me about these powders ? Pros and cons
I have been shooting Pyrodex since the late 70's and I have yet to find a dessicant packet in a can. Is this a new thing?
I dont use pyrodex but T7 is definitely more powerful than most black powders, based on extensive testing and years of personal use. Lots of test results showing the same can be found all over. Also running extensive tests with all of them in all sorts of weapons and some cartridges, the cheapest black powder still out performs them.
While ive heard plenty of folks say that pyrodex is more corrosive, T7 is less corrosive than Black or pyrodex. And is just as easily cleaned with just soap and water. While there is at least one sub powder that requires chemicals to clean, as far as my experience, T7 does not require different cleaning than real blackThen cleanup.....these are all highly corrosive. Unlike black powder where we basically just need soap and water then a good oil......these need extensive cleaning with products as used in modern smokeless powders.
no its not..different place that its madetriple 7 is also getting shut down
