Really? Did you even read Post #2? I said nothing about pounding a ball down & shooting it out. Seems you can't read either! Like I said, insanity rules! Really?
Oh, you are so right,,,, much, much better idea to shoot out a ball that isn't seated in the powder and with a bunch of metal stuff attached to it.

Please don't vote,,,,, or breed.

lets see, i do have an extra hawken. trouble is i have practiced so long NOT getting something stuck, am not sure i could do it! wonder if a plug of snow would do it? have plenty of that.
Oh, see, you would use snow. They would just have their sister-cousin stick her finger in the end of the barrel.

If you would bother to read through this ridiculous thread you would know the OP didn't let us know he had 120 grains of powder in the barrel & that it was only 6" down the barrel until AFTER TreeMan posted his response. Just another example of why people are sick & tired of these endless "stuck ball" threads & the stupid responses. All the OP had to do was read post #2 & he would have had all the answers he needed & his ball would be out. All you had to do was actually read before responding. 151 post? Insanity has taken over!

I read the op and down through several posts that ASSUMED quite foolishly facts that were not the case, such as assuming the gun was dry balled. Which according to your response is an wrong and dangerous assumption made by you and others.

If anyone ever wonders why muzzleloading isn't more popular you need only look at threads on this forum. Too many pretentious a-holes that would rather tear down, humiliate and belittle someone trying to learn rather than just helping or shutting up.

Yes there are other stuck ball threads but most are the same as this, people unloading on some poor guy trying to get advice on something.

A new guy joins up whose interested in getting into the sport and has bought a low cost gun and he's made to feel like he and the gun are worthless and may as well not even try using it. I have handled and owned plenty of well made centrefires e.g. sako, sauer, Blaser and am confident I can identify quality which is why I find it so disingenuous for guys here to tear apart guns like Pedersoli. They're well made and in my experience and the experiences of guys that I know have them work flawlessly. Not everyone can afford or is interested in spending thousands on custom PC guns, but that doesn't seem to be enough for some. That is nothing short of pretentiousness.

I started out with inlines and sabots, without them I never would have graduated to percussion then flintlock, I now love flinters over any other type of firearm including centrefires. If I had of found this forum and joined back in 2012 when I got my first inline and was learning basics I would have certainly been chastised and would have likely given up muzzleloaders for good.

Perhaps try doing what our mothers told us all as kids and if you have nothing kind to say, say nothing at all. Maybe then we'll get more people involved, have a bigger voice and who knows maybe that leads to more muzzleloader seasons, more muzzleloader friendly ranges, more shops and smith's focussing on muzzleloaders. There is nothing good for the sport that can possibly come out of people being ******s to one another but plenty of good that can come from supporting one another.

Seriously, if you do not have something productive to add to this discussion stop replying. I don't want it closed down and nor am I interested in anything anyone has to say that is designed to have no other purpose than to be sarcastic or derogatory. Period.

Please, let us know, have you tried anything yet? Have you resolved the issue? We might attack eachother, but, I think, most of us want to see you resolve your problem successfully and safely.

You say this with a ball stuck six inches down the barrel and ONE HUNDRED TWENTY GRAINS OF POWDER under the ball??? Are you going to replace his ringed barrel or worse support his widow?
I’ll reply to this misconception for a second time. The op originally wrote his post as if it was a dry ball. He later edited his post stating it was loaded with 120 grains of powder. Read the entire thread before commenting to save yourself the effort of being a smartass. My first comment on his post stated to put a little powder in and shoot it out. I’m not an idiot to inform him to put more powder into a barrel that already had 120 grains in it. It’s because his original post didn’t say there was powder in the barrel. If you look at the time stamp of my initial post to his stuck ball you can see the time stamp on his post as being edited after I made my comment. Instead of editing his post he should have replied to my comment with “I forgot to mention the barrel was loaded with 120 grains of powder” . In doing that it’s gotten me bombarded with comments from the peanut gallery that I’m gonna get him killed. Ive already explained this earlier In this thread. Read the entire thread before commenting.

Perhaps you should read the thread, I did reply to you are 11:25pm to say it had powder behind it. Then at 11:48pm edited my post to include it.

If you read the entire thread as you've suggested you'll also see that I have stated in no uncertain terms that enough is bloody well enough. If you're not contributing to the thread just stop commenting on it. I don't care about the arguments.

GRP. I really think you did receive some good suggestions addressing your problem. I for one hope you resolved it safely and satisfactorily.
as to the forum manners or lack thereof, think of us as puppies.
puppies without a stuck ball thread.
