I was looking at a very good target with 2 stupid holes in it.

One of he High Master shooters who shoots next to me looked at the target and commented that I had taken my eyes off the sights and walked off grinning. He checks my targets and offers insight.

His evaluations are correct and full of honest pain.

His mentoring has allowed me to progress in my pistol shooting and setting numerous national records.

Zonie,
You got me thinking so I got me trusty caliparies out and measured lands and grooves on both of my pistols. The average difference for the Lyman was.025 so the groove depth is about .012 inches. On the CVA the difference was .014 inches so the groove depth was about .007. A .010 patch is just about right for that pistol and a .015 patch works just fine for the Lyman.

Thanks again for bringing common sense to my ML world.
