Yep. Already got the flats filed in. Got a question if I don't stick my foot in my mouth again. In some pics of original guns I have looked at it shows the side tear drop carvings in the stock and it looks like there is some carving around the tang but can't find any views from above.

The precarve I got had a fairly large carving behind the tang I modified it to be much smaller/simpler as shown in Alex's pics such carving was more likely on a Fin than a simple de Chase I woud think, I did not use a thumb piece either and removing the extra wood is a big part of getting a good looking gun, I look at mine and think I could still take some off.
