Anyone hunt turkey with a 20 ga.

I'm wanting a fowler or trade rifle kit. Jim Chambers has a nice 12,11 or 10 ga. fowler which I like the larger ga. but the fowler has a 46" barrel which I don't like. TOW has a French Type D Trade gun 42" but in 20 ga. still longer than I like but acceptable. Cutting the JC kit down isn't acceptable since taking it back to 36-37' the oct. part of the barrel would be half of the barrel and that would I think look a goofy.

Never hunted with a 20 ga. always a 12 in modern arms.

Thanks,

My 20 gauge JC Smoothrifle will kill turkeys up to 30 yards with a paper shot cartridge, prob 20 yards without.

Smoothbore are great for all around shooting.
