When you get it back and install it into the stock, pay attention to the way the lock screws stick out thru the plate.
This will depend a lot on how much you tighten the lock and most of us tighten the lock screws more than they really need.
Anyway, if a lock screw is sticking out at all from the lockplate when it's tightened, remove it and file some material off of the end.
Bear in mind, the front screw is probably a different length than the rear screw if there are 2 screw holding the lock in place.
With the cock fixed and the lock screws the right length, you should be all set to have fun with your rifle.
