Here's a pic of two knives I am making
The steel is O-1 3/32 and the handles are maple.
top one measures 8.5 inches with a 4.90 inch blade
Bottom one is close to 9.25 overall with a 4.0 inch blade
Blade width if 1.0 and 1.25
These are the first ones of many I hope to make.
I know they are rough and need to be cleaned up but.....
Need some ideas and imput.
I don't like the pins or how they are positioned.
Fire away with ideas

They look like handy patch knives or paring knives.

The back end looks Nordic or modern to me. I would have rounded or squared, but then, that is why we have so many flavors of ice cream. We all have our favorites.

Are you looking for a particular time period or location?

Nice knives. Very good pattern. you could peel an onion with them or gut a deer. Very useful. :m2c:

As a patch knife, they are probably good to go as is. If I were to use them for other chores, such as cleaning and cutting fish and game, I think I would want some type of hilt between the blade and the handle, such as a brass flange or something. Have you ever thought of "thinning the handle", so it isn't as wide as the blade, but a little shallower (from top to bottom)? You could also dress up the handles a bit, either with a wood burner or some light carving.....skys the limit: initials, curly Qs, animals, ect. Good job!

newt,
they look good. if they were mine i would
round off the edges a bit more, but thats just me.
