How much difference in quality would there be in a uberti walker made 10 years ago and one from today?

from what i have put together, only the price, i have been looking at the colt walker and the rem steel frame, have asked many in the sales and gun smith about them, repair of one i found was what a new one would coast, and it was at a gun smiths shop. parts and labor, do not know any more than that.

I wonder at what point does that shaft that the cylinder rotates on will begin to work loose. I am looking at a gun on the internet and I was just wondering about it.

i wish i could tell you, i wonder about that my self, you might or might not know that i have the 58 rem brass frame, and the brass seems to me that it would wear out mighty fast, i could be wrong, but i think as long as i keep it clean, do not over charge it, that is to stay below max load, it could out last me.

Hi,
The weak point on most cap & ball revolvers is the hand that rotates the cylinder, the cylinder lock spring, the trigger and hammer sear edges.
Sooner or later the nipples will also wear out.
The surface area on the pin (bolt) and the cylinder is so great, it will take a lifetime of shooting, and even longer if you keep it clean.
What is really hard on any BP hand gun is pulling hard on the hammer of a dirty and seized revolver.

Should be no difference. It's luck of the draw as far a quality goes, with me anyway.

Keep the Walker charge at or below 50grs and you should not have any problems. Hands and springs are expendable parts, keep spares on hand.
