UPDATE:. Forgot to mention that rifle comes with a fringed elk skin slip case.

I picked this up many years ago because it was so nicely done and "cute". Am certain the "bones" of this rifle are CVA. Nicely aged appearance with burnished brass. Builder even stamped Hawken on the barrel.

Little wear on frozen and not sure it has ever been fired. Photos don't do it justice.

The trigger guard sure looks like the TC style guard. The ramrod pipes are definitely not TC. What is the barrel out side diameter??? ( on the flats?) Also, what is the barrel length???

You're probably right on the trigger guard but patchbox and lock scream CVA. Ramrod pipes are soldered on.

28" x 1" barrel. Looks like maybe a Frankenstein made of miscellaneous parts by some old recluse living off grid😁😁

Still cool though

Nice looking rifle Dryball!

Easiest way to tell the difference is the T/C trigger guard has a nubbin on the back of the finger rest, CVA does not. T/C pictured below.

no... Guys, its a straight up cva hawken that someone most likely built from a kit and reshaped the cheek piece to resemble more of a hawken style. The CVA Hawken came with 15/16" barrels and 1" barrels, 54s were always 1" and rarer, they offered them in 58cal for a very limited time. Juding by the lock panel shape, This is an earlier 80's model. After a certain year, they adopted the more common, rounded lock panel shape.
