Its OK Mike. Its good to get stuff like this out in the open. It looks like there are 2 different set of rules. One at the bottom of the page under Terms and Rules and another in the MLF Announcements and Help section. I would like a simple clarification from a moderator or administrator.
This discussion has been going on on several different forums regarding traditional vs modern muzzleloaders. Let's face it - inlines are here to stay. I own several but I also own a bunch of flinters and caplocks of which I hunt with. The others are mostly for my own fun use on the range.
So your premise is inaccurate. We are not "against" inlines, nor do we expect them to go away. We had a serious problem LONG before you arrived, with inline users sponsored by a major inline manufacturer, who tried to ban our use of what we define as "traditional" muzzle loaders, sidelock antique firearms or reproductions of such, and the use of a patched round ball, or variation, for hunting. Because of that and a desire to have a forum where these same type of antique firearms were discussed, this site was created. I seriously doubt we are going to open up the site for inlines under any any circumstances.
There are also not "two
different sets of rules". For them to be
different, they would need to conflict, to contradict, and they do not. The "rules" to which you object are clearly mentioned when a person logs onto the website, thus:
AND this appears ABOVE the section that you quoted, so it is encountered or passed over before scrolling to the very bottom of the page, and finding "terms and rules". What the 46 rules establish is a more than generic set of rules as set forth in the "terms and rules" section.
However, you do make an interesting observation about the locations of both. I sincerely thank you for pointing that out.
OH and in the rules that are found under Terms and rules..., there is this
6.3. The Muzzleloading Forum assumes no responsibility to monitor the Websites but we may do so at our sole discretion.
Member-posted content may be removed from the Websites at any time with or without cause and without prior notice.
You may, if you like, take the 46 rules posted by Zonie as "prior notice" of why member-posted content is removed, under rule 6.3
