I never had any problem with a patented breech because when i clean it i pull the nipple and add dish det to a coffee can and add boiling water and use a patched ram rod and suck up hot soapy water and drive it home hard 10 times flushing and then rinse down the bbl with just water from the tea kettle. Completly let it it cool then use the moose milk to get any left overs out then bore butter it lightly. SOLVENT and a lil brush the threads of the nipple and a piece of a pipe cleaner wuth solvent on it.(I make my own) 1part acetone/1part kerosene/1 part mineral spirits/1 part atf dextron 2/ makes a gallon a quart each -glass gallon jug.THEN i dab never sieze on the nipples thread-re-install.WD,S NEVER OIL NEVER in bbl leads to shellac on wds after and oil=gum after dry.

I need help understanding your abbreviations please.
“WD,S NEVER OIL NEVER in bbl leads to shellac on wds after”

Is this referring to WD-40? What is the shellac on? I assume it is the inside of the barrel.
Thanks,
Chuck

yeah i had 2 shotguns wouldnt fire from years as a kid spraying with wd-40 All the inside brown shellac. It sets in there then evaporates.I told my friend Dont spray your bbl=barrel with that crap...Why it works good he says..yup then his accuracy went from same hole to 4-5inch groups.OIL DRIES OUT LEAVES a petroleum residue from the by products in it also..HOT BOILING WATER FLUSH completely cool /swabbed with moose milk and dried and a coat of t/c bore butter. IVE had 30 muzzleloaders and never had 1 problem i use solvent for the nipples and cleaning the lock with a dab of break free oil bore butter pillow ticking keeps the powder loose when shooting. if hunting and no place or time to boil water ive used moose milk t/c no 13 and wiped it clean n then dry with a coating of bore butter. hope i helped ....i report you decide.
