got some bamboo skewers loaded with venison (marinated), vidalia onion chunks, green pepper and parboiled red potato. coals nearly ready! chili beans in the pot simmering! Ha! :haha:

Ya got me droolin'! Now ya just need some cornbread to go with it (non sweet, of course!). :)

I don't care for sweet cornbread either, I like it made with buttermilk, baked in an iron skillet with a thick brown crust - ha!

Now sweet iced tea and cold corn bread an't bad. It seems everyone these days wants the corn bread to taste like wedding cake.
You have to bake it in a black iron skillet. You pour about a good skim of oil in first and let the skillet and oil get hot. Then you pour in the batter made with whole fat butter milk. That will give you a good crust top and bottom.
And save the sugar for the iced tea!!

Uuumm, yeah. Some damned yankee dreamed up sweet cornbread! :haha:
We didn't have that problem until they came down here and then wouldn't leave.
Ya know the difference tween a Northern fairy tale, and a Southern fairy tale?
Northern one starts out "Once upon a Time"
Southern one starts out "Ya'll Ain't Gonna Believe This ****" :rotf:
