Ok, so for clarity a patch and and a wad are two different things, a patch is commonly used to shoot RB and it normally don’t exceed .030 in thickness; and a wad cans be used also for RB but mostly on pistols to lube and prevent chain fires. A wad is commonly used in rifles with bullets, to protect the base! The term is not interchangeable. I make my own from Duro-Felt that I buy by the yard, 100% wool, and specifically sold for BO shooting. I had bad luck with WhalyWorld “felt” as it turn out to be a blend with synthetics in it.
