Am looking to punch my own wool wads. Difficult to find ones specifically for 12 and 20 gauge. I did find a 20 gauge. If buying a standard punch, what size would you use for each gauge? Closest I could find for gauge diameter was 5/8 for 20 and 3/4 for 12.Thanks for any help.

If I were you, I'd buy the punches that Colorado Clyde suggested. You don't need any special made punches. The ones that he suggested are close enough in size. You can buy your felt from Duro Felt. You want to use only pure wool felt for your wads. Never use any cheap felt or felt from old cheap hats that probably has some synthetic materials in it. That cheap stuff will create a mess in your bore that is pretty difficult to get out. This is the felt many people use but if you want thicker material they have it, too.
