Yep your right about companies still making them. Nobody is, but I did call "Canvas Specialty" of California. "THEY STILL MAKE THEM" but they are on back order and sell wholesale for about $50. She wanted to sell me a bunch of rejects made from poor fabric that won't hold water. Just for display. I said "No way lady". They do plan to get more, but who knows when. So start looking into rustic antique stores or ebay.

I can't believe those "desart water bag" brand bags arn't in production. back in the 80's the 29 palms PX carried them; in fact even shop stores carried 'em, and we always had five or six tied to the howitzer whenever we went to the field. boy the water was good and cold. the bag would be dusty as all get up, but the water was always good and clean (relatively speaking I guess).
If you live in or near the desart, I'd suggest going to the local (independant)hardware store. I bet they'd know where you could get one. I'd love to have one, but the humidity is such that evaporative cooling doesn't work well up here.

Well, SKAGUN'
I found a company in Australia,(down-under) that makes desert water bags, they are a little larger than those you see on this forum, they also hang on your mule, and have a leather back plate to keep the white canvas off the critter. His name is Rob Byrne has a company over there, they are about $40, and wanted to ship me about 50 of them. Wish I could get them here and into you alls hands.
