I am new to muzzle loading but I have noticed that all the rifles I have seen have the wedges driven in from the right side of the stock. Is there a reason for this? Also, on rifles with double wedges is it a good idea to drive one wedge in from each side? Once again, all the rifles I have seen that have two wedges have them all driven in from the right. :hmm:

Chet,
I think it could be for appearence. i.e. right hand gun wedge from right side------left hand gun wedge on left side :imo: :m2c:i'm sure someone else will have a much better reason!

:agree:
Usually the lock side is the primary "view" side of a muzzleloader, and having the smooth heads of the wedge(s) on the same side as the lock has more eye appeal to me
