I no more than got back to the car and went around the corner lest than 50 yards and he ran out in front of me. I went after him in the timber but he wasn't stopping. Maybe next time.

Beautiful country. At least he is still out there getting bigger! What sort of elevation were you at?

he ran out in front of me.
Quick camera work!
That looks like most of the bear pictures we take, always of their backside running away from us!
Not being a hunter, that's the view that I would want to see!

Not like that video posted here a while ago that had the bear climbing up into the hunter's tree stand!
I like adventure, but that's a little much!

The mountains are beautiful! I would love to visit the PNW.
I guess folks are lumbering in the area. Is that the reason for the tree-less spots? Or were there fires?

Dash cam is how I took that picture lol if I had time to take the picture he would be in the freezer hahaha. Some of the area has been logged but years ago we had a big fire.

Yeah, sometimes I get a high advantage point and glass the old logging roads. Then make a stalk on them.
We like to sit across from south facing avalanche chutes in the spring and "glass" a bit of bourbon while watching for bears. Binoculars help as well. We see a lot of bears if we moderate properly. SW
