I ran into this on GB a while back. Just window shopping.
It was a Lyman GPR fully built rifle. I held off posting until the item sold.

What would you do? Leave it as is? Try to tighten them up?
It's the first I've seen this on any of the rifles I've looked at. If I was the seller I probably would have had this remedied before listing the gun.
It caught my eye anyway.

oops. Just realized; this would be a hook breach, right? Don't GPR's have hook breaches?

I think you're right! I blew up the pic on my fone and looked more closely, can see the wider standing breech plate where it is inlet on the left side, and the breech plate is taller than the barrel.

Don't I feel dumb.

I'm not much into the TC -style rifles. Only thing I know for sure is it is "breech", not "breach". Breech is the back end of something, like our arses, breeches (britches, pants), breechclout, breech-turned baby in the womb, and the back end of a gun barrel.

"Breach" means a hole in something or to make one, like breaching a door or a dam. If your breech breaches, you're gonna be hurt!

Thanks.
I've seen it spelled both ways and was too lazy to look up the correct spelling.
Bale and bail always get me, too. As in the bale on a bucket.

Will this be on the test?

From this distance it appears the fit between the tang and breech of the barrel is off. Raise the barrel or lower the tang, not a big thing.

That's Not, a barrel/breech fit. It's a hook and tang fit in your photo.
And it's obvious to see that someone has tried to fit a 15/16" barrel to a 1" tang/barrel channel.
Hopefully you didn't buy it.

It looks to me like somebody may have mis-matched the barrel and the tang. Maybe put a .50 replacement barrel in a .54 frame? That liner needs some attention as well. If there is a gap between the pan and the barrel it's a pretty good indication that the barrel is undersized for that stock.

I think someone mentioned that earlier, too. I wish I had paid more attention to the fit of the barrel in the stock and saved a picture of that.
Anyway, it's someone else's problem to deal with.

Could be that the inletting is a little loose and the hooked breech to tang fit is loose, allow the barrel to cant over
