I would make a box of some type to put small tools or to put ball in. Depending on the size of the block- you could cut a section off the top grove the sides for a sliding top then drill out the bottom half for the box and then work out the excess wood to make the inside of the box -grove the sides for the slidding top and there you have it. Something you can keep forever and have something that has a function. Mudd Turtle
