I am putting Lyman sites on it one because my granpa worked there and swore by them and two Im from CT is this the best choice for the rifle?

If you are going to use it for hunting, the Lyman Great Plains Hawken with the fast twist barrel for conicals. Along with it the Lyman Plains bullet mold made for it.

Lyman has more than one kind of sight. I had a Deerstalker and loved the sights so much that I got a set for my Lyman Trade rifle. They are the white bead front and folding rear.

On my .54 GPR percussion, I have the adjustable rear sights that came with it. On my .54 GPR flinter, I have the fixed primitive rear sight. The primitive rear sight is bold enough for my eyes to pick it up quickly in the woods. It is accurate enough for round balls at 100 yards, which is about max range. I have heard a lot of good things about the Lyman peep sights.
