Dad started hunting here in the late 40's him and my uncles would sleep in a tiny tiny sturgeon spearing shack with marsh hay for bedding when they started.
We have come a long way since then.
My son took this night time long exposure picture Late feb. 2016...

My plan was to be up there. I came down with West Nile a month ago and pneumonia got me two weeks ago. I have been off work for the last two weeks. Just not strong enough to hunt elk up there this year.

All these photos took my breath away, talk about beauty and great game lands. Don't have much in the way of pics but here's a couple or so of the general layout. Typical west central Va territory. Quite hilly, too.

Kind of depends on what I'm hunting. Mule deer and birds in the Columbia Basin:


Ducks at Sauvie Island (lower Columbia):
Bear out in the Wallowas (eastern Oregon):
