I would love a battle grade WW11 M1 Garand like my dad carried in the ETO 1944 and 45. I do have a No4 Mk1 from 1943 with lots of character. Pa gave it to me when I was 14.

Davy Crockett took 4 rifles to Texas l believe and loaned 3 to the Texas army. The young man in Tennessee who was supposed to go with his party missed the date and went later. I can't remember his name but became a Texas Confederate General in the Civil War. Think he was killed in it. He did say Crockett had on his shoulder "his old Bear rifle" that had linen thread wrapped around it in several places for injuries it suffered thru its life. THAT'S the gun l'd like to shoot!

Carlos Hathcock's rifle he shot in Vietnam, looking around now for a pre 64 mod.70 Winchester will have it converted as close as possible to a Nam era sniper rifle.
