Wow! Thanks for all the compliments guys.
Funny thing. When my father gave me this pistol a few weeks ago, I thought, where did you get this piece of S***! But it felt good in my hand so I took a crack at cleaning it up abit. I never was able to get all the staining out of it even after bleaching the stock. I put three coats of LMF red stain on it then a coat of color rich (red-walnut stain) to darken it up. The finish is Tru-oil which I know came out alittle shiney. But I just used up what ever I had left over from previous gun build projects that were lying around the work bench. I think the color goes well with the brass and white iron.
