What is this called?

I bought a TC Hawken and this adapter? was part of the accessory group that came with it. I want to find more in other thread sizes. Tried looking but I do not know the correct name.

Basically it is called a 'primer adaptor', that threads in in place of a nipple and allows you to fire the arm with a small primer (or larger #209 shotshell primer) in place of a percussion cap.

That's my thought.
A small accessory that will keep you shooting in hard times.

They worked well. I wouldn't call it junk. FWIW Horace Warner made a similar device to be used on muzzleloading match rifles in the late 1800's using a shotgun primer. You can read about it in Ned Roberts' book.

I call it a gun that will make smoke while other guns are wall hangers because their owners didn't lay in a healthy supply of #11 primers.

There's PC/HC and there's taking the PC/HC thing a tad too far.

Sometimes a "Hey, Man, now you can shoot your gun" is in order.

the only down side is when your in the deer stand mid december -30 degree wind chill and need a follow up shot and drop the cover in the snow .......now youve crossed into true primitive mode CAVEMAN because you only have a club don't ask how i know works great on the range though

Being able to stay in the game for target/Hunting options its a good option to have. Specially if you don't own a rock sparker. You people that nay say have your blue noses in the air. Yeah we fought a War to stop that !

I believe those were called Flame-N-Go Fusils. They are listed in Sam Fadala's "Black Powder Handbook".

Nothing new. You will also find a similar item in Ned Roberts "The Muzzle-Loading Cap Lock Rifle". Developed in the late 1800s to take advantage of the new primer technology.
