I would like to see a movie about the Battle of Athens, Tennessee in 1946 when WW2 vets had to take up arms to defend their rights.

I would like to see a movie of the Dunbar expedition of 1804. Almost as important as the L&C but hardly known to America. It set out on the Ouachita River in Arkansas. A documentary was made about the expedition. I played a part in that movie. But, it is an academic movie, not big time like Patriot or others. The story would make a great movie.
BTW, my part was to capture a runaway slave boy. Nice kid. Glad I didn't have to shoot him.

many good suggestions here - I'll add my .02, movie about the War Between the States in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee concerning atrocities committed by bothe sides on civilians and by bushwhackers, outliers and scalawags.
a good friend of mine had his 3rd gen G-father go off to fight (Cofedreate infantry) and was murdered litterally within sight of his homestead when he was returning home after wars end - they shot him down for his horse. outliers did it.
old sentiments die hard let me tell ya.

The CW was often close up and personal. Who killed whom was often known. If someone was spotted who killed yer kin, he was ded. No messin' around. We have a great story from my county here in the Arkansas Ozarks. Near the end of the CW some bandits raided a farm and burned the house down killing everyone inside. However one young boy escaped and sat on the roof of the barn watching. From the light of the blaze he saw the faces of the five men who did this and memorized what they looked like. After that he dedicated his life to tracking them down and killing them. He killed four over the years. Finally, he found the fifth but just couldn't bring himself to kill again and let him go. I think that would make a fantastic book and/or movie.

I would like to see a series based on Terry C. Johnston's Titus Bass novels.

 that would be another great movie set. The big sky series would be another great re-take as well. the ones from the 50s just suck.

I second a remake of ´The Big Sky´ Something closer to the actual book.

The first Sackett book "TO THE FAR BLUE MOUNTAINS" would be a good movie, its where the first Sackett came over from England to settle in America.

Blood and Thunder a good book about Kit Carson. I think would make an awesome movie.

At least a great Mini-series... The beginning of the book was outstanding. I finished it, but I thought the first third of the book was just fascinating.

Schoouwa
The Captivity narrative and life after on the frontier the James Smith Story
The Black Boys and their raids
This would make a fantastic movie and they would not even have to hollywood it up.
READ the Book "Scoouwa"
Deutsch

"Tom Tobin" what an encredible story. Especially his pursuit of the Espinosas and stopping their bloody reign of terror in southern Colorado with his fast shooting of his Hwaken rifle.
