Gathered all my stuff for the ML opener tomorrow. Spotted an old AAA battery on my table and tried the battery down the barrel trick I keep seeing mentioned. Couldn’t believe how well I could see in there. Must be witchcraft…

Regular season opens tomorrow. I spent time today looking for this guy.

I had a nice spot to sit with the wind in my favor.

I’m hoping to blood the .62 Jaeger tomorrow.

i fired up the lead furnace while i had the generator running. cast a couple dozen .600 balls for my fowler. probably take that many to find the sweet spot.
casting with a bag mold is sloooooooooooow!
dragged myself in and ordered a lee double cavity. along with a Teslong bore scope, and a jug of evaporust.
wonder if that evaporust would work on frozen leg bones and muscles.:)
i decided to solder a sliver of silver on the barrel for a front sight.
have a couple hundred mercury head dimes for the silver sliver!
hopefully i will be ready sunday to do that chore.

Traced out some ball board patterns on poster board . Made some shot tubes for my 50 cal smooth bore. Can't
shoot , rain and will rain for the next few days, and I want to shoot. I should be out in the shop, no interest. So
I guess I'll drink coffee and watch Gun Smoke.

I Shot my TC overhaul gun and realized I had very few cleaning patches, I couldn't wipe the bore after the last few shots.

I bought a fabric cutter years ago along with a small cutting board, I could find the board in my shop but not the cutter, off to Walmart's sewing department.

I bought a new cutter, they had much bigger cutting boards than my original for $6 so I bought one, I found the bigger board much easier to work with.

I cut up all the flannel I had, I filled a gallon bag in about 15 minutes. These fabric cutters are amazing.

I just bought one of those cutting boards last week! Glad to hear about the fabric cutter, want to buy one of those also. Any special kind?

They are all about the same, some have bigger cutting wheels, Walmart has a variety of makes and sizes in their sewing section, most are about $12.

The cutting wheels are replaceable, Walmart has these as well. I went with a Fiskars because everything else I bought with that brand name was good quality.

Practiced inleting on a scrap piece of 2x4 for a patch box, but my dang hands wouldn't be still long enough to make precise cuts, so I may have to settle on no patch box for the Kibler SMR. No worries, it's still going to be one sharp rifle.

I prefer the nice clean lines of a light trim SMR sans-patchbox anyway.
