I am under the crunch to get moved in before Xmass. stepped out the back door with the trapper and rang the 30yrd 5" plate with the first shot. reloaded and went back to work.

Today I decided to replace the bolster setscrews that jam into the nipple threads and bugger them up with these button head screws trimmed down so as to not contact the nipple threads. I'm not sure I like the look but I do like the idea of not running buggered threads up and down the nipple tapping.

My dad did this. He bought a used muzzleloader a pawnshop. Had a ball stuck in it. The screw on the drum was stripped completely. He was able to remove it. He used an alien pan head like yours. He loves it!

I made a neat palm saver with an empty shotgun shell I found at a blind. I threaded two ends of the paracord through the empty primer hole, and tied them off so they couldn't pull back down. The I found a used shot cup, and hot glued it to the bottom, and cut the sides evenly. A quick passs with a torch made the sharp plastic edges nice and soft. The string is the perfect length to go around my hand or wrist while using it.

I was really tired of having marks on my hand every time I would shoot. Before this, I was just using a rag.

I have used rags as well. I solved the problem buy buying a short starter and drilling a hole in it for the ramrod. I kinda like yours better. Think I got some 16 gauge shells around here someplace....

That empty milk jug was giving me dirty looks, so I filled it with dish water and took it out for termination. Used a .40 caliber 180 grain LSWC in a .45 caliber sabot with 7 grains of 3f and 70 grains of Triple 7. Loaded the gun indoors, went out to the porch and capped it. In the swirling wind and snow, I made the "hit" with one shot at fifty yards. When I went back inside, I noticed my reading glasses on the kitchen table. I had forgotten to put them on. Maybe I am not as blind as I thought... or... could it have been the wind? Nah....
