Rainy day here in NC. Made a sheath for my new file knife build. Got it stitched and stained today. First time making a knife and sheath, learned a lot and had a blast making them.

I just finished shooting and cleaning the 32 KY.
And filing down the front sight some more.

Really trying to make it a good one.

I've gotta do something with that trigger though. It's at almost 12 lbs.

I think I'm going to order a silver blade front for it, too. Hopefully TOTW can add it onto the order I placed Friday.

Hit the steel plate 3 out of 5 times at 50 yds but by then the wind was 100 kms or so. Cleaned up and came home.

Worked on my powder horn. I was getting close to finishing. It cracked when I tried to put the plug in. I don’t think it was a good quality horn to start with. Time to start over.

We had a nice break in the weather this afternoon so I got the Sharps carbine out for a few shots. Found that Black MZ needs a little "encouragement" by priming the nipple with FFFFg but otherwise got good ignition. Not a bad group twelve shots at 50 yards elbows on the bench top not on a rest
Except for a couple I pulled about coffee saucer size group and for a half blind old codger I will take it.
Tomorrow weather permitting 40 grains volume of FFg same bullet and we will see how that shoots.

Made a 10-32 tang nut, inletted it and countersunk the barrel for an allen head screw.

Took a Hogue pistol grip and epoxied a wooden tenon in place. It will be glued into the stock mortise and cross pinned.

Trigger guard bent to final shape and inletted.

Started beveling the stock corners to remove some of the chunkiness.

That is a beautiful bag. None of mine are lined, and I wish they were. The pockets are well done and should be very useful. Several of mine have pockets, but they are so small and stiff and flat they are useless. Mass produced bags - bought before I knew better.
