It’s a start- don’t underestimate what you can do"Pretty nice" is a huge understatement!
I've gotten the horn drilled and the spout whatchamacallit fitted.
Ain't gonna be no pathfinder!

Unfortunately the Fowler was too rich for my blood, not that the price was bad just not for me, the barrel(smooth) was pristine.Picked up a 44 derringer at the lgs and expressed my interest in a nice English Fowler repro that hadn't made it to the rack yet. I'll be back there tomorrow!
It is beautiful.!!I finished a Powder Horn- Number 56. Came out pretty nice I think

That’s really nice looking!I’ve had some maple rounds sitting around, waiting for me to get the gumption to turn them into stools… and today was today. I’m hosting the April shoot coming up, and we’re gonna need somewhere and something for the geezers in the club to sit down on and take a break during the trail walk.
One finished, and a second stool well on its way…

Thank you, Sir!That’s really nice looking!
Thank you, that’s mighty purdy, but it appears kinda short. Will I be able to get up if I sit on it?I’ve had some maple rounds sitting around, waiting for me to get the gumption to turn them into stools… and today was today. Bought a German Cape gun on GunsInternational.
"1880's German Cape Gun made in Braunsweig Germany made by R.L. Rasch (name gold inlaid under right hammer) This highly engraved and gold inlaid firearm is chambered in 10.3mmX60R rifle caliber (.416) and a very rare 20 gauge shotgun barrel." 20ga is 2 3/4" and has been gunsmith to use low AA Target shells. The seller is also including Hornady dies and 50 rounds of rifle ammo and loading data.
I especially love the Circassian Walnut. I get lost in the luminescence.
I was using a dowel wrapped with sand paper to polish out the bore when I found the hump. After thinking more about it I’ll just leave it be. If I remove any metal that area under the maker’s marks make get too thin. Thanks.

Gentlemen, it’s not for me to point out such things, but in keeping with history carvings on horns were important maps or messages, as shown in San Francisco Bonhams auctions. If I can always do better photos and descriptions. Such is the importance of the horns they go from $8000 to $24,000 I guess many carved by the light of a camp fire, scratching a map of the days journey. Others with name may have been presentation horns As I say I can send better details

It’s taller than it looks.Thank you, that’s mighty purdy, but it appears kinda short. Will I be able to get up if I sit on it?
Concerning the stool, it ain’t the squattin’ that’s a problem, it’s the unsquattin’!
I think if I made it any taller, I’d have to put some wheels on it….Concerning the stool, it ain’t the squattin’ that’s a problem, it’s the unsquattin’!
