For those making cartridge shotgun barrels into muzzle loaders ain’t always easy. Like fitting 28 shotgun barrels onto a .36 ml
Double rifle . I hack as much metal away with a 2mm thick disc in my angle grinder of course a cnc mill is better but not 1880 old school. Gave first pair of breach plugs away and made two more . Now I find my files are suddenly warn out . I am at a file ing or dremmil stage now final fitting of lugs , not particularly in the mood for precise work , these cancer drugs make me lithargic. Been on immunology for two years and the 4 big tumours have shrunk to under 20mm so
No bother , I am a lucky man at 81, , just keep taking the tablets and I’ll live forever might make 100, but 120 is my plan. Ha ha dream on ::::

.
I was admiring the strong drop of your stock butt , very nice , and across the pond the Swiss liked it too 1885 in these 7.5/53 target rifles , of course I doubt you will fitting an uncomfortable Swiss target butt plate like my two But , you photo was begging for a comment. Nice But you need a wide plank of expensive wood, now worries ,

Much love from London

Do like a hot bath. Cutting the breach plug lumps to fit another rifle can be a struggle. Takes ages. I hacked most of the metal away with a 2 mm disc in an angle grinder finishing with a file and dremmil. Still not there yet as still a gap, cannot find why although I was using engineers blue . Tomorrows another day. Hope these notes help in converting cartridge guns to ml Normally you would make the lumps fits and then file up the square hold to fit. , so I do it back to front

Go for it!

Turned, drilled and fitted a pour spout on my flat priming horn.
Also threaded a wood plug and tapped the base for easy fill.
Plenty of fine finish work and pinning the caps but the tough part is done then onto some skrimsha.
Hey I haven’t seen a picture of your gun finished and a target or two .

Yes tomorrow was: is now , another day. Heavy rain Joan decorating, set the engraver / light mill up to cut away metal for nipples. I hope I get it right this time Just making soup with yesterdays dinner, just did not feel like it last night ,so wanted something ice cold . Yup apple crumble and loads of icecream

At last two squirrels on the lawn, would be great in my soup, but I could not get a bead on them running around. My pcp hills pump is playing up, and not much air left in 177&22 for squirrels either

“Have a nice day . as they say when we were in Florida

Gotta love the new air guns.

Just got this good ole Kentucky kit put together. 70s era Sears Miroku Still needs some loving around the lock area not my doings. and maby blue the barrel. Found it years ago but was missing the lock trigger and guard. Found all the missing goods a few weeks ago. I hadn't planned on shooting it but it fits me so well.

I picked one up at Kempton this past July, I haven't done anything yet, too rapped up in my rifle build but I'll be on it soon, I hope! A real nice brown colored.

Saturday I got the rare chance of late to go shoot with extended family and friends. I shot my 1851 Navy over 50 times and my 3rd model Colt dragoon about 40 times. They both performed well and I got to use up bunch of oxidized lead balls. When the snow flies I will cast a bunch of bright and shiny new ones. I also got out my Original Smith Carbine and put 50 rounds thru it. I went home black fingered and smelling like
Black Powder fouling. ‘‘Twas truly a wonderful day.
