destroyed a couple weeks work in one second.
inattention to where vise jaws were and blew off a good sized chunk of the lockplate inlet and tang inlet.
epoxy is hardening now. Damn the torpedoes! full speed ahead!
always have another blank i guess. its only hours burned from a short life i would have wasted doing something useless like sleeping, talking to the wife, and shooting!

Piddling around in the shop today, I made a couple of cleaning rods for these pistols from scrap materials I had laying around. They may not be exactly historically correct, but I think they look better than plastic and aluminum cleaning rods. They work too!

Shot my first flinter today and what a surprise, always thought of myself as a fair shot. This flintlock shooting looks like it will take a bit more concentration than I expected. The only thing that I could hit might be an innocent bystander.

If it aids in shooting accurately keep it.
i would need to wrap my head and face to shoot mine well!
personally i would dye the wrap dark and wax the heck out of it.

Today I purchased a bullet mould a Lee melting pot and all the necessary tools to start dropping my own bullets!

Put another coat of browning solution on the rifle I am redoing. I think I am finally starting to get the idea of the browning process . Took some trial and error and some you tube videos and things are starting to look up. Getting some nice brown now.

Nay for me. But it’s not my gun. I’ve never tried that so I’m just going on looks alone.

Another nay vote. Unless the stock is cracked, it detracts from the slim lines of the rifle.

Stopped by Graf's in Mexico, Missouri and bought another pound of FFg. They have black powder in stock, so felt it wise to build up my supply. Lots of bare shelves in the store.
