Gordon, who painted that Abstract on your wall? Fascinating !!!! next to guns, painted art is my passion!

Gordoncourtney, I like your rendition better than the original! I see a matchlock pistol being fired under water!
my first impression was a Uboat being sunk but had to tie it to muzzleloading!

Deer stalker , greetings from UK just made up a frame to do a GETHHARD RICHER painting about 5 by 2. It’s like £21m.ha ha (that’s the one with two people at auction house) I cut up some old sails for a canvas I’ll staple stretch on .

I have been gunny mad making three Gibbs types , the flint one is 85% done. Got to make some percussion hammers for other two

Reason for chat is I was drying some black stuff on a canvas in the sun , a few months back , and it went off ,leaving its signature on the canvas. Great fun It looked like a scene of the Somme France. I only wish I had some background painting on it before hand. I keep looking at it. It’s nice maybe just leave it white with some colour showing through the shell crater holes

Been teaching a guy how to do people. You don’t do hands feet and faces as your brain knows you have them just a stick man with clothes the hair position is the important part

Enjoy lovely and sunny here

today i completed the search of every nook and cranny in my shop looking for some #11 caps i was sure that i hadn't used.
have been shuffling about muttering to myself for a couple weeks looking. wife was about to lock me outside.
I have had a big green tackle box, the kind that folds open with 3 trays on each side, used for nothing but BP stuff.
sitting in plain sight on a shelf, in the middle of the back bench.
my two active brain cells finally got together and the light bulb came on! 750 # 11's and 250 #10's.

of course i had to share my elation with the bride. she responded with a yawn and muttered something about an "Old Fool".

Range time Monday out to 200 meters with round ball in the T/C Hawken, Darned surprised I could hit it freehand. Tuesday bought another 25 kilo`s of Kno3 for about the same price as a pound of powder to make some of that stuff for the muzzleloaders.

After 15 years decided to put up my 18+ foot tipi. It has been in storage in numerous locations all these years, including the poles which had become a bit of a hassle due to the 26' lengths. My late wife and I, along with the kids, traveled from NY state to Montana and Wyoming to attend a couple of Western Rendezvous in the 1970s and 80s plus numerous local outings. It was still in great shape, no rodent damage or rot. The new generation got to see where their daddy spent many a night during those years. Great memories.

Hunting trip , well with a pcp air gun after rabbits. Diesel and petrol are hitting over £2/ litre that’s £10 a gallon which takes my Rapido 46 miles for £20 It’s around trip of 800 miles to bottom of Cornwall uk so that’s £400 of fuel for the trip. Outrageous Think we have just decided to go to Vannes France instead , the most prehistoric place in Europe ancient standing stones. Fuel £1.40’: litre Still have not got a licence to carry in France , so dare not put a ML in my Motorhome , no licence to have one but you have to have good reason to have one, carrying one in case you can shoot is not a good reason , incidently fuel tax is 46% of fuel price

I started another painting just done background in acrylic top will be in oils you won’t see much of background

Had a great several hours of black powder shooting with great friends at the rifle range today. I was using the Pecatonica Verner rifle I built last year. I got it where I like it at 50 yards and I am doing pretty well at 100 yards (all in the black) but oh how I can certainly improve!
dave951 has been a terrific shooting coach :thumb:

Once I have put something "someplace safe" it is gone forever. "Someplace safe" must be the biggest room in the house and I have not a clue where it is!
