Started removing sprues and polishing metal on the Queen Anne pistol kit from Blackley and Son. First gun build from kit although I finished a Lancaster rifle a friend had built by doing the final shaping, sanding, carving, browning, staining and oiling. Not confident with drilling, tapping, hardening etc. but will give it my best shot. Took three reads of the instructions before I figured out what needs to be done.

Stocked up on caps 😃

Just a bit curious and looking for alternatives. Do these caps fit over the cones like the metal ones? Can you comment on their performance in your pistols. I have the paper strip kind and they tend to block the nipple hole with paper debris after detonation.

I have nipples that a guy on Ebay turns down to fit these red caps . They work great but you need a strong mainspring, because he bores them through to basically just an open nipple with a huge flash hole. And I was getting hammer blow back . I'm going to try them on Pietta 1858s

They probably wouldn't work as well on unaltered nipples

For about 50 cents per 100 they're good for plinking. I need to see if they light of Pyrodex

Interesting, thanks for posting.

Well, the cats Vir & Delenn were definitely the stars of this video. I should hire them out as "stunt cats". In any case, I did eventually get them far enough away from the target that their risk of injury was minimal. They've gotten so used to me shooting that they have no real fear of gun fire. T/C Renegade .50 with PRB atop 50 grains of Swiss 3f black powder.

This is the gun I picked up two days ago at my old boss' gun shop. I did quite a bit of cleaning, then got the 0000 steel wool out with some Birchwood Casey gun oil, a patch and a fitted jag. Got most of the rough spots in the bore relatively smooth again. Plan some switching around of sights and such in the fairly near future.

Good evening I have kept the .5 no2 double barrels at £266 as I have a spare set of L&R flintlocks

Dropped the 8 bore down to £128 as I cannot buy a repro percussion action for that

The 11 bore is cancelled as I found I had one on the chairs

I thought buying scrap junk guns for lot £850 including premium. Might just as well spend a bit more and get something decent 😳😳😳😂😂😂😇😇😍😍😍😍

Who knows ???? Wait to 30 th March

Would love to get the 8-bore

Finished dbl barrel 12 gauge that was gifted to me by an old family friend. He had found it at a garage sale parts in zip lock bags and a very messed up stock. Had been in storage for decades. Luckily he lived up in the dry mountain air so very little rust. I made an ebony but plate and gave what needed a blueing. You CVA haters go ahead and hate but I love this gun.
Would be hard to hate on anything that nice looking!

I got to clean up my mess from my barn and get ready for fishing. I sure like having a covered shooting place where I can fiddle with my muzzleloaders and test various things without having to leave the comfort of my own property. That is a luxury I had where I grew up and I made sure I bought a property where I could shoot. Now all I need to do is retire and I'll be all set LOL
