Disassembled my L&R lock to clean and polish everything in preparation for my winter smooth rifle winter build.
Took nearly an hour to get the cock/hammer off but a little heat from a torch does wonders.
Also took inventory of parts I'm missing so I can get them ordered.
Never used a Colrain barrel before but it's definitely on my list.

A buddy of mine got the BP bug really bad from shooting with me, first season hunting with BP and is having a blast. Started off carrying a modern rifle and BP rifle to his blind and now left the modern stuff home. He blasted a coyote yesterday and now is wanting to cast his own roundballs. He bought a CVA Mountain at an auction that is a beautiful and really straight shooter. Jeremy already passed on several nice bucks because he wants his first BP buck to be really nice.

It finally rained !! so l felt safe shooting my gun. 50 cal. Thompson Center I bought in the 1980s. Great gun , never move the sights only the powder amount I used. Last time I cleaned it I left a clean patch on the ramrod down the barrel. Swab that patch up and down a few times then loaded. It went bang. 70 grains of pyrodex that's over 20year old a 490 round ball , 15 size patch with wonder lube. Shot 15 yards out to 50 yards. That ball can do some real damage. Shot through 1/2 inch wood then through 2 inches of books then embedded 1 inch into the log behind it. At 50yards was just as good. If I go deer hunting I know this a deadly load.

Replaced the front trigger on my SMR yesterday to correct the stupidity of filing the first one too far.

Can anyone tell me exactly what I'm aiming for here? Slop in the front while unset obviously, but when set the front should not have slip but the rear having slop? I'm this my first set that required this be done and I just want to be sure.

Be sure to separate the zinc weights from the lead weights. The zinc will ruin the lead.
