Pondering on the John is as good a place as any. I 3d printed somebody doing just that... He sits on his throne on a shelf above mine. Print quality is junk but what can ya do with "sample" filament.View attachment 365670
Should be holding and looking at a cell phone for modern day accuracy.

Finished carving the shell on the Fowler.

Started a pullover hunting shirt. I'll tell ya guys, I'd much rather use woodworking and metal working tools.
I'm pretty sure you only have so much of that red stuff in you and I think my level is getting low after the many times I've stuck myself with pins and needles,😁

Thanks for sharing @Moleman! All the best with the rest of the journey on that shirt. Just a hint, if it starts to look like this below, take a spell and go back to wood and metal until the blood count goes up again:). Pink shirts are historically correct.

How about a pic of it when it's done?

Cheers, Pete

Will do Pete. I've never tried a shirt so this is an adventure into the unknown and ignorance as it pertains to sewing.......... nothing ventured is nothing gained😁
I attempted making one(1), that's ONE, white cotton shirt. by the time i had it done it was a camouflage red matching the red leaves of fall. wife wanted to wash it with oxyclean but i told her to leave it alone. Never wore it.

today i inlet the tabs I soldered to the fowler barrel into the stock. maybe drill and pin it tomorrow and start inletting the lock.
the friend that I am building this fowler stopped by with the trade fodder he is giving me for the fowler. confession time. Please forgive me for I have strayed, His trade goods is an 1884 Springfield trapdoor 45/70. OH how I do love those things. especially when they are in 97% condition.
let my friend fondle the fowler I built a couple years ago and am storing for the buyer until they escape from commieforina. He had a case of glassy eyes when he handed it back. think he will enjoy the Fowler when it is done.
