I Cut the cap to a dawn dish detergent bottle and epoxied it to a swiss B.P cap. Makes it easy and accessible to pour right out into the measure and easy to close when the powder measures full
I found whiskey bottle pour spout that fits schutzen power bottles it allows you to pour and it recaps itself

Went to my clubs shoot today. I was shooting my old T/C Hawken .50 caliber. Lots fun was had by all. Some of the targets were silhouettes at 25, 50, 75, 100, and 120 yards. I can't believe I missed the half-size chicken at 25 🤪. I also can't believe that I hit the full-size chicken at 120 ☺️. Here's one of my 30 yard paper targets:

Here's another interesting target being shot by a fellow club member (that horse tried to buck me off):

I squeezed the trigger for the very first time on my new to me flintlock, a Lyman GPR, and touched it off. Since I have never owned a muzzleloader or anything that burns black powder … it was a very cool experience seeing that big flash in the pan and then feeling the delay before the main charge fired the round ball. Hooked for life would be an understatement!

Now you get to have the fun of figuring out what causes that delay. Often too much powder in the pan

I think the only muzzle loading activity i will do today is read these fine pages.
we have about 6 inches of snow. we also have a berm of snow about 10 inches high from roof slide off.
went out yesterday wearing moccasins and stepped on said berm. 180 lbs of lard makes a whoomph! sound hitting the ground. an empty head makes a funny sound i can't name when it hits the concrete porch edge. stars and tweety birds circling said head as things go black make no sound.
today I have aches in places i didn't know I had. the nurse/boss/bride has me handcuffed to my recliner with her nifty Smith and Wesson cuffs. I didn't know she still had them! guess today i get to just sit and hurt!

I finished my rifle that I bought from Pecatonica River back in May, had a few problems but managed to get her done. I was working on the muzzle end and the rifle slid off the bench and broke in half, I was lucky (?) in that it was a clean brake!
It's the kit that they sell modeled after a Abraham Sweitzer rifle from Chambersburg PA., 42" barrel, .45 cal., I had them install the butt plate and the barrel channel and ram rod channel, I used a Jim Kibler's Ketlan lock.
I have to thank John Labrat for the wonderful engraving he did for me, he is a great engraver!
