Just to add my two cents. I'm a working man like many others here. And like most,I cant afford to plunk down $1000 bucks right off the bat. But that doesnt mean I cant get a custom gun at all. I owned a Traditions Penn. rifle years ago. Nice gun at first but then lost its sparkle. Now, I have 2 guns on order with Sitting Fox. How can I afford them? Simple. A patient and reasonable gunsmith who is charging me one gun at a time, and the patience I mustered up to wait till I had enough saved to cover the cost. It took a little while longer, but the end results will justify the wait. Production guns are ok. But a good quality gun is worth the price. And if youve never built a gun before. Save yourself some heartbreak and save enough for a finished, or at least an in-the-white gun. One little mistake can ruin an entire project. Believe me, I know.

Dixie is selling these for $695

I have a few pedersoli's, and they've served me well.
Cheers,

Very nice looking gun.

If I were in the market for a smoothie flintlock I'd put that one on my list.

As I posted earlier, these guns don't have the best reputations. They also miss out on the authenticity issue. A quality parts set is less money and results in a much better gun in all respects.
