Hi I just finished a bag,in which I used artifical sinue.Iam tired of that and would like to try something else.I have a new computer and I dont have my drivers downloaded for my camera.I will add pictures when I do.Can you tell me where to buy the thread? Thanks,Squib

I buy my artificial sinew at either Tandy Leather, Michaels or JoAnns. They all have it.

I use a 5 cord linnen thread, got it from Campbell Bosworth Machinery co. that seems to be the most common material used on traditional bags I had used artifical sinue on several and was told one thing they didnt have in the early 1800s was artifical sinue so to be more authentic I started using linnen on all of them and a mixture of beeswax and pine pitch melted and mixed together to wax the thread

The linen thread 4-5 strand will outlast the artifical Sinew believe it or not and the linen isn't as bad about cutting the leather as it's pulled through the leather. I still use the artifical sinew on some projects, mostly where I am looking for an effect.

2-ply linen thread, twisted and doubled to make 4-ply and rubbed with beeswax. Completely PC and effective.

Thanks guys,I ordered some today from campbell bosworth.I tried to order on line, but I was getting a warning from my computer that this site was a security risk.So I ordered over the phone. They were nice people to buy from.Squib
