I am looking for to make a wheellock pistol about 1570, help me to know how I can find plans, instructions, sort of iron etc. I am living in Switzerland.
My project is to build twenty pistols able to shoot :surrender: a black powder charge

There is a book of plans of a later style wheellock pistol by LAUBER. Search the forum for discussions of this book, and google for a pdf of the book or ABEBOOKS search for a copy for sale - its 20 years out of print.

We don't have good plans for a puffer style. I can offer a composite picture with views of one, as I am working on a CAD tracing to develop a design, but it is not in any way finished or dimensioned - my intention is to print at true scale and use the printouts as paper templates, then hand fit with minimum formal dimensioning. I am happy to forward a zip of images if you are just starting to look...

Is this for yourself or for a movie or what? Do you mean 20 puffers or 20 different types?

You would do well to consider the Brescian lock kit offered by Blackleys.

Thank you very much, I am a member of a historical society www.compagniede1602.ch and each year on the 11-12 december We are commemorating an episode of the wars of religion in Geneva. We are 900 members with 20 riders. The pistols are for the riders

I have a pdf file of a wheellock pistol and rifle build. These are complete plans for building the lock and everything. This was given to me by another member of the forum. Please forgive me but I don't remember who it was. :surrender: Send me a PM with your email addy.

The pdf will be Lauber - can't imagine who sent that to you :shake:. The design is appropriate to the 1620-1640 era Dutch or English types, while the puffer style as you know is more like 1579 Augsburg.

How good do you want to be? You could adapt the Lauber design to a lockplate shape suitable for a puffer quite easily. The lock has simpler workings than the puffer style.

Here is my project. I have only gone on to round the swamped barrel and experiment with printing the lockplate template true scale (not right yet). I have acquired some stag cast antlers on eBay but they are pretty grey and I want a good white for my panels.

You are giving a shock to me!!!
Your project is exactly the same as mine, I thinking to be the only fool in the world to want to make this model "Puffer", keep me in touch of the advance work and I would do the same. Now my problem is to find a barrel here in Europe. The Geneva museum has a collection of 160 Puffer, I can often see them for inspiration. Many thanks
