Hi everyone, My wife and I are going to be in Calgary, Anchorage, Fairbanks,Los Angeles areas. What I am after is some one or some where I would be able to bye a nice possibles bag and powder horn
while I am over there. Not keen on what's on the cabeles site. Would love to pick some thing from a custom maker if I can. Any help would be great.
Thanks, Greg.

Hi there, we will be driving from Calgary to Jasper, around Vancouver and from Anchorage up to Fairbanks. Then flying down to LA before heading home. Thanks Greg.

I can suggest you consider a horn by Ron Vail. I have two of his horns and find them nicely made and they look old! Check out his web site: http://www.ronvailpowderhorns.com/

As far as bags, you might look in Muzzle Loader Magazine. Lots of ads there. I make all my own leather accoutrements, so I've never purchased a bag. Lots of folks make them for sale. You might search our classifieds for one for sale or a maker(s) and contact them

Good luck and welcome to our shores!

Hi, thank you for that. Can you tell me when the markets are on, ie every sunday or once a month. The link is very helpful, that is the sort of thing Im looking for. I won't have time to find these sort of gyes when Im over there so, need to find where they are before we leave. Thanks Greg.

I believe the market is both days every weekend and Wednesday afternoons. You're welcome to pm or write me at [email protected] to get directions, etc. If you're interested in Judson's stuff I'd just contact him on the e-mail on the link (looks like his son is handling that) since I don't know where he sells his items.

I suggest that you email or call a maker who's work you like. They most likely will be happy to make you a shooting bag exactly to your needs and specs. I have 2 museum quality bags one by T.C. Albert and the other by Darrell Lang. Both makers are outstanding, their prices are quite reasonable (IMHO) and I would highly recommend them. Here are their websites with contact info:

Good luck in your search....Mick C

Are you crafty yourself? Making accouterments can save you allot of money and give you much satisfaction and enjoyment.

If that's not your thing, many god online vendors available. :hatsoff:
