I'm just getting to the point where I'll need to have this info in the next week or so. I picked up a sliging patchbox spring but would rather see some prints or dialog to help me see it in my minds eye before starting.
Thank You
Craig

Glad it worked for you..I'm going to try a wooden patch box on the next rifle..trying to decide which cal..32 or .40.

I never shot a 32 but would not ever give up my 40 cal. I'm building another 40 now and will be doing another slider in it.

Hey crgabel, glad to see you posting here hey is that .40 for you or are you selling it ? are you going to use that batch of auqafortis you made up to stain it ?

LHunter,
I never thought that I would run into anyone here that heard of my chemistry projects??? As for the Strong water, I'll be using it on the 40 cal. also I just completed a 50 cal and it's gone already. Let me know who you are and I'll send you a photo of the 50....Looks nice! Taking it to the club to shoot it saturday with the new owner

Thanks for the note, I'll send other pic's later
The 40 is for me so far unless it sells, I got another guy on the edge of buying it.

There are good instructions on how to make a sliding wooden patch box in The Gunsmith of Grenville County article in Muzzleloader Magazine dated Nov/Dec 1993 page 19 and Jan/Feb 1994 page 17. Also the same information is included in the gun building book The Gunsmith of Grenville County by Peter A. Alexander published by Scurlock Publishing Co. I used those steps along with a few of my own twists on my first one and the results turned out excellant.
