Wow... Take all the time you need and let your body heal. Get well, but do it on your own time. No need to rush.

Sorry to hear that Mike.... Ice SUCKS, I had very similar happen to me....Slipped once and broke two ribs also, they actually criss crossed. Slipped again and tore my rotator cuff... Then a snow plowing incident tore my other shoulder....

Don't rush it....Figure a year before you feel normal....Do what the doc says....
Yes, recovery is painful but you'll get there...

Speedy recovery, Mike. Looking forward to seeing you back in action.

This seems a good opportunity to practice your left-hand quick draw. :haha:

Mike, Here's hoping for a good recovery. Take your time, do the therapy, and don't get discouraged. These things take a while but you will come through just fine. (Don't ask how I know. )

Thanks for the mention of your articles in GOTOW and this summer's American Frontiersman. Time for a trip to the magazine store. We all look forward to your stories and videos.

Ben there done that, not as severe as your injuries but devastating enough where I had to give up high power competitions with the un-mentionable rifles, could not handle the resulting pounding from recoil, Also major job change. That was 25 years ago. Really enjoy your postings. Hang in there it will get better  R.C.BINGAMAN,AN APPALICHIAN HUNTER

Mike, Sorry to hear of your mishap. Thanks for the update. Take it easy, and heal well.

Like Spence said, after you feel a bit better you can use the situation to work on your left handed gun handling.

We'll be waiting for your next video, and updates on the swivel breech.

Take care, your health is all-important.

Old Ma Nature has a way of reaching out and giving us a slap across the Head as a wake up call !! Had a couple, Heart trouble and a compound broken Ankle to name the latest. I guess look on the bright side with the weight loss and the Doc`s confidence of a recovery. Hang in there and always enjoyed your Videos.

Well my friend, that's a rather spectacular injury, and very glad you're going to be fine after time and PT...

So are you stopping by Market Fair this year? I don't doubt you won't camp, but how about day tripping or Ramada Rangering?

LD

Best of luck during your recovery. Big fan of yours, and have appreciated your insights and teachings

I am planning to camp as usual at the Fort Frederick Market Fair. I've been doing heavy duty physical therapy for a few weeks now. I still have a long way to go, but I've made a lot of progress. With a little help I should be able to set up camp.

I have an appointment with my orthopedist on 14 April, and I'm hoping for a thumbs-up from him on Ft. Fred.

After Ft. Fred, I'm hoping to be able to do some work in the shop again on the swivel breech.

Right now the PT is basically a full-time job.I have to do the exercises three times a day. If you include ice-down time, I spend about five hours a day doing PT...Can't get much else done.

Hey Mike, just want to say "hang in there" from another guy that likes your stuff.

Sorry to hear about your fall. Try your best to power through the therapy. I've been through it for a knee surgery and remember thinking that it would never end! Don't despair and keep at it so we can enjoy your work again.

Best regards, Skychief

Mike;
Good luck with a speedy recovery. Looks like you have lost a few pounds and have a bit of color -- good for you! And you don't need two hands to WRITE -- get transcribing software already and let the editors earn their low pay.
