Where can I buy a semi shaped butt stock for a 2 bore underhammer I am making, I need a 15" length of pull and it needs to be heavy duty ? I am using one of Muzzleloader Building Supply's actions.

Muzzleloader builder supply supplied one for me. I had them cut a half stock into two. I'm using both ends for their Underhammer action. The inlet the front stock for me.

Ebay is also another good place to check. You might be able on convert a T/C or Investarms Hawken stock if your using the Underhammer action from MLBS. :hatsoff:

Also check these guys out. Link for stocks.

Nosey people want to know ...what barrel are you using on your 2 bore? [me]

It would be almost as easy to use a blank and shape your own, much easier to handle and work with a flat pc of stock.

Thanks,
Bruce

GMWW,
Did you order a stock blank or a preshaped stock from Muzzleloader Builders Supply ?

I asked Suzie to find a stock that best fits the action after the front was cut off. She did. If you contact her and ask, she will do it. It's a rough shape and I had to inlet it for the upper and lower tang. Check the thread "More Underhammer Stuff" and you will see a photo posted by John Taylor with my stock on the right and FW's on the left. Both are from MLBS along with the action.

I also had to heat the tangs up a bit and straiten them out a little. Wasn't too hard. Just time consuming. All I had was a vise, and rubber mallet. Don't ask how I heated it up.. :shocked2:

Do you remember what she charged you for the stock ?

I ended up buying a whole stock which she fitted the butt piece to the size of the action. Not inletted but just macthed up the size. It was $155 for the complete stock.

With that said, I've seen some nice rear stock blanks on Auction that would work for much cheaper if your willing to spend time shaping and inletting. :hatsoff:

I'm going to send you a pm with a link to a nice stock blank on auction. :hatsoff:
