I'm in Southern Indiana, is there a gunsmith who will re-rifle or re-bore a .50 cal. barrel in this neck of the woods?
What makes you think the barrel needs re-rifling/re-boring?mrspear said:I'm in Southern Indiana, is there a gunsmith who will re-rifle or re-bore a .50 cal. barrel in this neck of the woods?
I understand - just trying to save you a little money by suggesting some options. On the other hand, a 54 is handy to have...great caliber.mrspear said:you referring to making a lead lap? If so, thought about it and would like to try one some time but it's just that, a time issue... as in lack of. I've used steel wool, 3m pads, brass sponge around a jag, JB compound some lapping compound, it's shiny just shiny pits.
It's accurate enough for a deer gun but I don't need it for hunting.
Also, I don't have a .54, if I re-cut it I would have to buy all the stuffins for a 54.
