Dead-Eye
.50 Cal Mountain Rifle
I used to buy it at the Bass Pro Shop, up off 1604 near Six Flags.
I’ve been gone for a few years, so that may have changed.

Where to purchase black powder in the San Antonio, Texas region? Former sources no longer carry black powder, citing change in definition of black powder from "sporting" to blasting powder.
What he was saying that if you do a group buy with other shooters you can take advantage of the savings and you portion of the group buy could be as small as you want it to be. You still get to take advantage of great prices that way. I have done many group buys over the years, it's the best way to get what you want at a reasonable price. Many people can’t afford or don’t have the space for such large orders. If not Grafs is a great place.

If buying from PowderValleyInc, it does not all have to be black powder. They will allow you to mix smokeless, primers, caps, ammo, bullets, cleaning patches - anything that they sell. Just about every black powder shooter I know also shoots modern stuff and needs supplies for that as well. Up to 48# and they don'y care what that 48# consists of.For sure. But it seems unless you are around people who attend events, compete, or reenact there’s not many people. I’ve known none except my father who lives a day’s drive and shoots Pyrodex if he does, and it’s not enough for him to buy more than maybe a few pounds. My friends think I’m weird for liking it.

I used to shoot with the Central Texas Black Powder Association in Austin. The club disbanded about 10 years ago. I have much more Goex than I will ever shoot. Give me the location of the shoot and I will come with my flintlock and plenty of powder. The highest price I remember paying was about $15 per pound. I will sell some for that price.Rodwha,

Yes! Try my best to shoot there every month... The club does not sell black powder. There are no brick and mortar "over the counter" options for buying black powder in Bexar County, Texas or indeed, Atascosa, Wilson, Comal, Guadalupe, etc. It has to be gotten elsewhere or buy shipment from one or another vendor.Went back and looked over the posts here. You do know about the ALAMO MUZZLELOADING GUN CLUB RIGHT ?? http://www.amlgc.com/
I was wondering about Powder inc.com..checked out there site the other day and you can purchase as little as 5 pounds at a time...you save money also and the price includes shipping and hasmat...I thought that was a good deal...I was looking a the Swiss powder....anyone else have dealt with this company?,,just my two cents..Ditto:SunCity: Try 'Powder.Inc' online; larger orders save money. A club or group of shooters can save by getting 25 and 50 # orders. Contact them ask how to go about ordering. I was the order guy for our club. once there were enough to get 25 we'd order. When I got the order, calls were made the guys picked up their portions.
