In Illinois a FOID card let's you buy any legal firearm as long as you go through the proper waiting times. My dad has an old .22 cal revolver also but it's always been messed up and it stays around because it was his dad's that he carried for protection from the wild dogs that lingered around town while he went mushrooming or berry picking. All of this just seems weird to you since you're in New Jersey who seems to have odd gun laws. In fact my uncle has been pushing me to buy a black powder revolver. The single shot pistol was him.
Actually NONE of this seems weird to me! Are you ever going to give some straight answers to my questions? I believe that you will find several in my last post. Illinois and New Jersey have a lot in common these days as far as firearms laws. I just went to the Illinois State Police web site for lots of info! Do you have a FOID Card in your name? Are you aware that a single-shot black powder hand gun in your State is considered every bit a hand gun as a 500 S&W? And that you must be 21 to purchase, transport, or offer for sale a hand gun in your State!
Obfuscate if you will, but even my 20 year old (who has a NJ type FOID Card) knows better than to be transporting a hand gun when he's not old enough to own one!
Oh, and I'm still waiting for the PT from you so that I can send you my toll-free phone number, so that I may converse with your Dad.
The ball's in your court!
