I responded to your question but it disappeared and I couldn't find where you started it from.
Yes, the Whisper Baby is more than capable of even reaching Welding temperatures but you don't have to go that hot just to move metal. You had another thought about Hardening Parts. My question is are you talking about Hardening with Kasenit or current substitutes then yes it is hot enough. But if you are talking "Pack Hardening " then it would have a problem with it's size. When I Pack Hardened the Wheellock parts I did that in my Kiln. And i used Stainless Steel Foil instead of a Crucible to conserve space. The Foil Max is 1800°F (from MSC) My Hardening Temperature was 1550°F for x3hrs. The Foil is kinda spendy but it's what I had and works. I hope this helps
